Body and Soul Yoga
In 2014, when I was 22, when my sister dragged me to my first yoga class. I did not want to go. I did not think yoga was a real work out. During that class, I complained about removing my socks and shouted, “are you serious?” when instructed to do certain poses. Despite this, after class my body felt amazing. I have always been an athlete, but yoga made my body feel different. Years earlier, I suffered a shoulder injury that required surgery, and there was constant lingering pain and tension. However, after a few classes I started to feel a difference in that shoulder. I started noticing how by incorporating yoga into my workout routine, my body healed faster and felt stronger. I was hooked.
I diligently practiced yoga over the next three years and saw how it transformed my body. As I became more aware of my body alignment, I noticed how yoga transformed my mind, my soul too. I became obsessed learning about different yoga styles. Over the years I have studied under different yogis, honing my practice. My hope with this studio is to bring what I have learned to my hometown. Yoga transformed my life, it healed me in more ways than one. My hope is for this studio to be a place of transformation, a place where I teach my community that yoga can heal your body and your soul.
